burning oil
Okay, I have a 68 with a 350 from a 73 pickup that has recently started burning oil, would this be a bad piston ring? Or is there something else that may cause it? Any input would help. And I have dual exhaust and the burning oil is only on the pass side (right) bank.

Is it burning oil while you drive or do you notice mostly on startup?
If it's primarily on startup, it could be valve stem seals. I just replaced them on a 75 350. They were so hard that some broke into pieces when removing them. If they've never been replaced I would do that anyway just to be on safe side. Of course the other possibility is rings. Maybe try some Sea Foam in the oil.

do you have factory stock valve covers with the baffels/ cheapo chrome ones with none allow motor to suck oil in thru the PCV system

Well I've only had it for a month but it seemed to start running really rough in the 2000-2500 rpm ranges and it isn't the fuel filter, but it seems to kinda surge, hardly noticeable in 2ND gear but 3Rd and 4th it's easy to notice and it does it either until you let off the gas or put it to the floor, but then it starts again when the speed levels out

Surging while at cruising speed could be caused by a lean condition. What carb are you running?

It's a Holley 600cfm, but it didn't do it till just now so unless the adjustment screw was vibrated in I don't see how that's the problem.
