Re: Quarter mile estimate?
I've been telling myself I will be happy with a 14.99, which I don't think should be any problem but a 13.99 would be awesome, it would put me right next to my dad in his 66. Thanks guys, I will update this Friday with what I run.

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
It has a tune? What did it make on the dyno, might be easier for us to guess.

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
I am tuning it myself with hptuners. There is talk of a dyno day here locally, if they do that I will find out what it puts to the ground but as of now I don't know.

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
I think Hartrod is close... I have ran that track with the same setup... A cam and some nitrous and you will be in the low 13s and over 100 at least I was. I have ran out there several different setups so I may have forgotten one and didnt keep very good logs.
I wont make it out this weekend because of the street machine nationals but lets hook up out there some time.

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
14.5 I will be happy with for sure, I'm guessing a little slower. I will be at the street machine nationals for sure, and definitely want to check out your truck. I want to go turbo next summer so checking out your setup would help a ton.

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
Are you using a wideband for your AFR? If so, what is your current AFR?
Where do you have timing set right now? Stock doesn't really care for more than 25ish degrees of timing. But make sure all your timing modifiers are adjusted as the stock tune has timing pulled for air temp, coolant temp, etc.. I would also suggest you log all your KR points. This might help you find a little more ET/mph at the track. Burst KR Torque management KR Actual KR I think a well dialed in stock 5.3 with stock verter could go low 14's hooked at 3,800lbs. Re: Quarter mile estimate?
Yes I am using my wideband, WOT is 12.8ish. Timing I am not sure about, somewhere in the 25-27 range, I would have to check. I know I am logging burst KR and I will check on the others. Thanks for the input!

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
KR and Burst KR are under Engine>Retard
You will find both Ignition timing advance (total timing) and Torque management advance under Engine>Advance.

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
85 SWB with 5.3, small cam, th350 and 2.xx gears ran 14.8 @97 on street tires. Gearing was killing me

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
I ran it first with a bone stock tune except the VE and MAF tables dialed in for my AFR. I ran a 16.3855 @ 80.20, then I put in the tune I had been working on and ran a 15.6782 @ 83.75. I think I found a leak in my intake manifold that I am going to try and seal up, and if that isn't it I will do a leak down test because there is no reason I shouldn't be at least low 15's IMO. I was spinning off the line, but not much at all. I did pick up .700 and 3.55 mph with the tuning so that at least made me feel a little better.
Oh, and I couldn't get it to run the timing I was commanding. It would bounce from 20-22 total advance with no KR, no matter what my timing cells were set at. Here is a pic of the time slip, I am on the right. |

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
If you want to e-mail me your tune, I would be happy to try and help you find the issue with your timing.
Also, if you have any logs and your .cfg file as well. Shaunliddy@hotmail.com Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Quarter mile estimate?
Thanks, I'm on my phone so I cant email you the files but I will later. I'm pretty sure I found my timing issue, I was running 110-122 degrees IAT so it was pulling timing because of that.
