aftermarket grilles?
What is the best way to make an aftermarket grille work with the factory bowtie? I've found two nice aftermarket grilles with the two holes in the center and want to know how a bowtie would fit on them? Please help.

85-87 Dual Headlights Only, Spacers for Bowtie emblem 14043882
15598756 & 15598755 83-84 DHL Did not use the spacers, but they did use the same emblem There used to be aftermarket grilles available with the Bowtie mounts for 83-84 and 85-87 but I believe GM put a stop to it. Classic parts used to carry the spacers, but they are not a bad find used. -Sam

Re: aftermarket grilles?
83-87 SHL=No separate trim on the grille and a Stick on Bowtie
83-87 DHL=Separate Trim Bars in the center with body color accents, the emblem spacers (85-87 only on the spacers), and a bolt on Bowtie. The grilles are different on the 83-84s and the 85-87s The center trim bars are also different and they follow the grilles. Emblem is the same. It is easier to see the difference with pictures....so maybe someone has some before and after shots of a SHL to DHL conversion? -Sam

Re: aftermarket grilles?
Yeah, that makes sense. I just picked up a factory grille with the bowtie already on it and also another brand new aftermarket grille with the two round circles on it that will need the bowtie spacers I guess. So then is the aftermarket grille I have only for a dual headlight set up?
