Oil pan spray

Putting my oil pan back on 3rd time, leaked around crank first time, 2nd time is shooting a stream like a squirt gun from one small spot. I used indian head sealer on gasket, allowed an hour setup time. Any one know any tricks to seal this area?
Thanks for any help

Re: Oil pan spray

If it's squirting out, it sounds like you might have alot of presure in the crankcase. I would check my pcv system. I use a sealer called Hondabond. I know, it's made by Honda, but it is the best sealer I have ever found, and really oil resistant. It's $24 for a 1.9 oz tube at the dealer, but I've seen it for about 1/2 of that on E-Bay.

Good advice, will check vaccum on PVC system, will also look into "Hondabond".

Re: Oil pan spray

Is the mating surface of your oil pan straight and true? What oil pan gasket are you using? I really like the one piece re-usable Fel-Pro oil pan gasket. A little expensive, but it doesnt leak!
