Re: Nice stocker for sale.....

Not trying to bash, but he says paint job is better than the original one, and they removed rear fenders to paint, etc.

But there is overspray on the hood hinges, and the engine wiring plug and harness is painted green, so if you move that wire to the side i am betting there's no new paint under it, it was just sprayed in place. Same with throttle linkage or whatever that is by steering column, and steering column cover.

Of course a truck is worth what someone will pay, but it's details like that, to me, that really differentiate 12K trucks and 24K trucks. It's hard to break over 15K, and i think this truck is closer to that value than the 18K.

not to insult anyone, just my two cents, and i am a nit picker.

I fully agree with you, there is overspray on the hood hinges but I wonder if alot of it is dust also, cause if you look at the fender wells they are dusty or oversprayed as well. Price is high, but I just thought it was a nice rig. Something like that would, in my opinion, would go no more than $11,000.

Re: Nice stocker for sale.....

It's very possible it was worth more with the original paint.

Re: Nice stocker for sale.....

I think the 11K mark was closer to what i was thinking.

That being said, mine was a tape job as well, and even more poorly done. However, taking it apart and painting it has been fantastic, as the sheetmetal is still straight and no rust. If that's the case with this truck, it could be a lot easier for someone to turn it into a 20K truck with a good paintjob done properly and new cab seals, etc and a little attention to detail. Shouldn't be a lot of time in metal fabbing, bondo work, etc.
