Steering component issue, HELP

Im finally converting my 65 C10 to front disc. I'm using donor 83 c10 spindles.

My problem, The outer tie rod ends.. On my 65 the tie rod end threads are 5/8. On the 83 they are 11/16 thread. The 65 tie rod end adjusting sleeve wont expand enough for the 83 TR end to screw in...

I can't find any parts sites that give these measurements. Are 5/8 thread TR ends available for 83 spindles? I'm ready to make my own, but thought I'd ask first....

Thanks

Just call and talk to Randy. Make sure to tell him the 11/16-18 is RH (right hand) and the 5/8-18 is left hand. The length for these trucks is 5-1/4"

One thing no one tells you is you have to use the 65-70 OUTER as the INNER or you will end up with 2 ends that have RH threads (they won't adjust that way!)

Re: Steering component issue, HELP

I've always just changed the entire steering linkage to the later model assembly. You will have to drill 2 holes to mount the later model idler arm though. Then there's no confusion later on when you need replacement parts.
