Post My 71 and I have been off the radar for awhile...

Tex here,

How has everyone been? Here's whats been up. 3 years ago I gave my 71 to a good friend of mine as payment for working on my '59 (link to the 59 info in my sig). He planned to take the 71 and do a frame off resto and make it ridiculously fast (he's got skills) but a couple tough personal setbacks forced his hand to sell it. I got 1st dibs and I jumped on it since I recently got rid of the 59.

The truck has been sitting in an open pasture unprotected from the elements and it shows. The paint (cheap Maaco job) has oxidized and flaked off in spots and water has brought out the rust in the usual places on these trucks. The transmission (TH350) will only work if you start in 1 then 2 then Drive. Start in Drive and she won't move.

Here's a little vid I shot Saturday. 1st time in a year and a half since I saw her. It took my back to a different time...

Wow man, you have a real natural talent with cinematography. You took what would normally be very boring and clinical, and made it interesting and emotional.

Nice truck by the way. Keep it this time

Much appreciated. I keep telling people I'm a filmmaker. I'm making a little cash here and there but nothing like a 40 hour work week can produce

She's not leaving my possession again if I can help it.

I'm using a little Canon T2i with a couple of different lenses. The lens used in this was a 50mm prime lens.

Awesome. Digital SLR's are great for video. 50mm prime is my favorite lens
