New exhaust system being installed today.

I have been busy completing the 10 year restoration on my 67 C-10. I got it started and it runs ok but I'm getting a strange noise at about 25 mph. It seems to be comming from the tranny or rearend but without mufflers the exhaust is so loud I can't tell where the problem is for sure. I took the truck to the muffler shop today to have the complete exhaust system installed. A great deal of time went into the planning of this system and this is what I came up with. I'm starting with stock "Rams Horn" manifolds. The pipe will start out as 2" than step up to 2 1/2". I'm using Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow mufflers. From the mufflers to the exhaust tips will be 2 1/2". The exhaust will exit like on Kid's truck (dumped down at the far back corners of the truck. All the pipe will be alumanized. I've been using 12" long pipes with no mufflers just to get it running, man it's gonna be nice to quite this thing down! This will of course help me track down that strange noise also. I'll post some pictures tonight.

Let us know how loud it is, we put 40 delta's on my son's 71 and it is a little too loud (in the cab)at some rpm's. Good choice on the routing/exit.

I think I have used every big buck system out there. My favorite is the Flow Master 50 Series. This is the first time I'm using the Delta Flow style though. My muffler man said he really likes installing the 2 chamber Flows becouse after 2 weeks he gets to replace them with 50 series! Over the years I have also converted to using only aluminumized pipe. That way it still looks great after the first rain storm.
