Ok so the pipman arm is the only piece on my front end that is oe. I have a 68 manual gear box. I went to napa and they said they would have to order one at a wopping 128$ a powersteering one list for 35$ rock auto does not even list a manual??? What is the differance in the two? How often do they wear out. The truck sit for 15-20 years with no driving. I hate to run the oe but dang thats highway robbery! Anyone know a cheaper source?

$39.95 here:

http://www.performanceonline.com/60-...ms-idler-arms/ They wear out just like a ball joint does. The flexible end becomes loose and has some free play when they get worn. If your pitman arm is like that you will likely need a new idler arm as well. Look further down the page for that.
