Rim size question
Did Gm make a 5 on 5 vette style rim that fits our trucks. I thought they were only 5 x 4.75. I am talking to a guy about some rims for my 85 short bed and he says they are original GM 5 on 5 rims and that they are not knock off rims.

Re: Rim size question
GM never made them for trucks but you can get reproduction wheels in many sizes. They may have made some for the Impalas from the late 60s with a 5x5 bolt pattern.

Re: Rim size question
Thanks. I knew they never made them for the trucks and didn't think that was right after he said that. I did start to wonder if the bigger Chevy cars of the 60's had bigger size but they didn't. Just thought I would make sure before I replied back that GM didn't make them to fit our trucks. He had them on a 88-98 chevy 1/2 ton.

Re: Rim size question
I was trying to see about the vette style rims. If they ever were 5 on 5 on any Chevy.

Re: Rim size question
Factory wheels are date coded and have a letter designation on them. Usually stamped right close to the valve stem.
IIRC no 5x5 vette wheels exist. Just repro ones. |
