flex fuel question
Hi guys,I normally hang out on the 60-66 board but need some of your expertise today. I looked at a 2006 chevy 1500 to buy as a tow vehicle. It was very clean and low milage and had the 5.3L V8. So now I find out that this 5.3L engine is a flex fuel engine. I really am not interested in ever running E85 but was wondering what this board thought about the flex fuel engine that always will be run on 10% or less ethanol. Are there any disadvantages you guys know of with this engine. Thanks for your input and thoughts.

Re: flex fuel question
No worries. I also have no intentions of running high ethanol blend fuel in mine. Most everything in the regular grade around here is up to 10% only. Some vehicles have a badge or decal on the rear showing it to be a flexfuel vehicle and some don't. I found out in the owners manual that one of mine is an ff vehicle.
But like I said, no worries.
