Burb/blazer fuel tank conversion-exhaust? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Okay, I am reading that if you do the burb/blazer fuel tank conversion then you may not have room for over the axle exhaust. Am I right on what I am reading? Does this just pertain to shortbeds? I was thinking about doing this to my rc K30. I want to keep the exhaust out the back behind the wheels and if the tank is going to be an issue then I probably won't do it then. If that is the case are there any other options? Is this for both short and long beds?

I haven't heard of it. I thought they just fit in that little "pocket" in between the frame rails towards the back half close to the bumper. I don't see why you couldn't still run an exhaust back there unless your wanting to put it straight back then I could see the issue.

That's slick looking but I mean even with it there wouldn't it be risky to run an exhaust close to whether it's straight out or even angled?

Not trying to high jack by any means but I'm curious to know myself.

On a long bed there is plenty of room. There is no issue with running exhaust around the gas tank look. Just look at the old GM cars, they all had the tanks at the rear with the filler behind the license plate and exhaust running right beside it.

That is where I read that you might have issues with exhaust. I like my duals to exit right behind the rear tires. I want to be able to put a 90 degree right there.

K5 blazers came from the factory with this tank and were available with dual exhaust that exited behind the wheels, so it will work with a pick up as well.

That was my thought behind the whole thing but just wanted to make sure.

it took some creative bend's but mine come out under the frame rail's on my CCSB.
