Project "One eyed Jack" 72' 3/4 ton 4wd!
Howdy guys. First off let me say this, This is my first build thread so bear with me.. I'm a senior in high school, I've worked at a fast food restaurant for the past 2 years and I own many 67-72's. Currently I own 5, but, I've owned 12 at once. My daily driver is a 72 1/2 ton 2wd with a built 327. The latest addition to the family is this beaut named "Jack". "Jack" is a 1972 Chevrolet 3/4 ton 4x4. He has a healthy 350 and a 4 speed manual transmission. "Jack" was found through a family friend and the info was relayed to me, In the typical fashion, the truck was used as a farm truck for ALL of it's life. I bought the truck from the original owner, and he sure didn't take too good care of Jack. The truck was completely rebuilt in 1980, front to back, and worked on the farm all the way up until yesterday (10-5-13). The cab is really, really rough. The driver side door literally fell off because of rust and half the cab is eaten away by rust.. Only few lights work but, I hope to have it roadworthy by first snowfall. I do have a few questions though.. The upper radiator hose is metal.. Is that original to the truck? Or is it a "farmer" adaptation? And the power steering in it basically does not work, is there a place that sells the power steering box for a 4x4? He's not much.. but he sure is a great start. Oh, I paid $400 for it... haha yeah, i'm pretty lucky.
Check out this rust!!
