1959 Deluxe Fleetside - Project #3!
It's been a while since I've posted on my other builds.. I stumbled upon this truck this weekend and couldn't pass it up. I'm bit with the 55-59 bug.. lol. It's a 59 Deluxe Big Window Fleetside with the RARE chrome trim! The truck was last tagged in 88, it has a Mystery Engine in it, possibly Caddy or Buick - If anyone knows what it is please let me know. It's had a lot of nice upgrades - disc brakes, power steering and tilt wheel. The lady i purchased the truck from didn't know much about the truck as it belonged to her dad. Gonna drop a battery in it this week and try to get it running... What do ya'll think this one's worth?

Thanks Kim - Should be a fun build! I'm gonna throw a nice set of wheels on it, some bumpers and have a nice cruiser

Yeah its in excellent condition, especially for a Texas Truck. It was parked in a garage for years, so that always helps. It's safe to say that interrior is HIDEOUS! lol. Thats all coming out, haha!

Looks like a good start. All the hard to find stuff seems to be there. I have been chasing that bed chrome for years. What exactly is that on the dash?

It's like a molded carpet or something.. its a mystery. there's nothing wrong with the dash.. it's perfect and not cut up. It was last tagged in 88, so this probably looked good in the 80's... not so much now.

Buggy5872.. there's a 59 fleetside on the dallas craigslist with the trim, bumpers and grill restored, complete for $5500... you might have to buy a truck just to get it the trim, then weld the holes up and ebay the truck or swap out the bed with your truck.

It's a Buick v8. You will have to check vin I'd to determine if cubic inches. Could be a 350 400 or 455.

Do you know where the VIN is stamped on the block and how to go about looking it up? Thanks so much! - Shane

Not sure where on block vin pad is. Chevy is in front on passenger side by water pump. Your looking for a flat machined area with stamped in numbers. Try a site called buickgod to look up vin. Hopefully it's a 455 one of the best and rare gm v8s.

Re: 1959 Deluxe Fleetside - Project #3!
Well, its been 4 years since I've posted on this truck. The good news is I'm back on the project. We are updating the suspension with C4 corvette (Front/Rear) - we have a 5.3 LS engine/4l60E combo going in to make this a really nice cruiser! Here's some pics of the progress - I would love to know what rear underbed fuel tank works best for a fleetside.. the one's on CPP's site specifically say they will not work on a fleety..

I guess you are bitten by the TF bug! What happened to the Buick drivetrain? I thought it would be cool. Different is good.
