Figured I'd show some pictures of my first one of these trucks.

Frame up resto.....blah,blah,blah.......Let's just say my neighbor is heavily into restoring these trucks too, AND he's a GM parts man. Needless to say it has NOS fenders, rubbers, grill loops, etc, etc.

The only thing I paid to have done was Pheonix transmissions built the 700r4 and a glass man put in the windshield. Everything else was done by me and my wife, including the front end alignment. I mean everything, paint, upholstery...

I love these trucks painted orange...got one that drives by all the time and it just looks mean and fast..great looking truck..what size are the tires and rims??

My wife is way into this too! She is more impatient than me to get our 70 blazer done. Then she has me putting in disc brakes so she can drive it easier! I love it!

Wreck...

Front- ECE 2.5 inch drop spindles and Summit brand 2 inch lowered springs. The Summit brand lowered springs are very inexpensive, and when you get them they come in a Ground Force box. Summit brand 73-87 lowered shocks (they are actually reboxed Doetsch Tech brand)

15x7 wheels with 235/60/15 BFGs

Rear- ECE 4 inch drop coils, ECE adjustable panhard rod, and another set of Summit brand short 73-87 front shocks (hey man 26 dollars and they fit perfectly)

15x8 inch wheels with 275/60/15 BFGs

Rides Awesome!

A request and a question:
Could you post a picture(s) of your interior. My wife and I will be taking ours on and I would like to see what you folks did. My question involves your shocks. Did you have to install shock relocators or did the Summit shocks bolt right in? Thanks for any reply.

Zeller.....part number is SUM-G727 from Summit. They will be Blue powdercoated Ground Force springs. They were two years ago at least.

The shocks were a bolt in. Of course the front suspension on these trucks is basically the same as 73-87, so I called Summit and ordered their brand "Sport Truck" shocks. They cost 26 dollars each. I didn't tell them they were going on an earlier truck, I just said 73-87 1/2 ton 2 inch lowered.

The rear shocks were bottoming, so I looked at the front short shocks when I got them, and they bolted right on the back, so I ordered another set of the front 73-87 lowered shocks. That is, I used them on all 4 corners. I did not have any shock relocator brackets. The mounts are stock upper and lower in the back. Ride is very good, and I've had literally probably close to a dozen deeply lowered Chevy fullsizes. It rides well, and proper, no harshness, bottoming or other ugly characteristics.

Interior pics...no problem, the truck has had two completely different interiors in it. 1 was orange and white roll and pleat vinyl, the other two tone tweed al la street rod. I have pictures of both, but be patient, all the pics are pics, not digital, so I have to have my wife take them to work and scan them into her computer, and dial up e-mail them to me at home. Which do you want, or both?

I think the pics are backwards form scanning them somewhere along the line the got flipped.
