Re: Ohio members
If I knew how to post images I'd post some renderings of the truck. I got the truck from New Mexico so it was a DRY truck and relatively rust free. The SPID had 1 option . . . gauges, and that was it. Since this is my first build, ever, I'm struggling with some things, but it's coming along. And, I'm building it as a driver, no queens here. In about a week or so the sheet metal will be all painted and ready to remount to the chassis. The frame was taken down to bare metal and painted. Engine is a GMPP 350 RamJet with a 4 speed (granny gear) with a GearVendors OD. The rear is a Moser, narrowed 2" on each side with a 3.42 posi. 4 Wheel discs w PS and PB via an electric Mercedes Benz hydraulic pump. The only parasitic action on the engine is the alternator. The chassis has been lowered 2 1/2 in the front and 5 in the rear. Each rear wheelhouse in the bed was also widened by 2" to mate up with the rear end and so I can run 12-13 wide wheels. I've looked at some Weld Racing T55 truck wheels (20x12or 13 rear, and 20x8.5 front) but I like the Forgeline better if I can find a complimentary style.
I'll post the renderings and the painted pics when I can figure out how to do it. |

Re: Ohio members
Forgot to mention that the tires are gonna be either Toyos or Continentals, depending on what kind of sizing I can get for the wheels.

Re: Ohio members
@chris67gmc . . . . checked the Forgeline website . . . . is the price for the RBC3 that is listed for 4 wheels, or 1 wheel. Thanks,

Re: Ohio members
I wasn't aware that there was a regional section. My concentration has been focused on the truck and how I can get out of trouble when there's something I don't know or can't figure out.

Re: Ohio members
If I could get the pic situation figured out I would post some pics along with the renderings of what I'm shooting for.

Re: Ohio members
Greetings from New Carlisle. Just north of 70 and 235 interchange, just west of 675. There's a bunch of us on the boards from Ohio. We usually have a get together each year at the "Vintage Truck Show" at Young's Dairy, in Yellow Springs. Kinda fell by the wayside the last couple years, but we'll try again next year? There's a couple of posts in the regional section about and from most of us here in Ohio. Might want to check them out?
Here's a pic of my 70 GMC.

Re: Ohio members
Is there a trick to posting some pics? I've got a few of my build that I could post. It's coming out of paint this week, so the sheet metal and the chassis get married this w'end.

Champion myself, just north of Warren, have always had a 67-72 chevy truck, in one style or another. Now just a hobby building them. Have a 71 in the shop now doing a frame up build.
