Re: New memeber, New truck

The cab is the worst of the whole truck. Needs new door sills and both bottom cab corners. still cleaning it out from sitting so long. Mechanically it seems fine, the engine turns over by hand and I have done a light tune up on the engine but have yet to hook the battery up. Im having trouble with the bolts on the bottom seat frame on the bolt on the inside by the tank. I cant get anything on it. Once I get the seat out I will know exactly what im working with.

Greetings and welcome! Try not to get overwhelmed although it sounds like you have it together. I ended up making a list of everything I wanted to do. I also added the items that I have completed as not to get discouraged!

Re: New memeber, New truck

Yeah when I pulled it out of the field couple of weeks ago all 4 tires were flat. The front tires held air after sitting for god knows how many years but the back were shot, the spare was there and it held air. had to change out one of the tires and put one wheel on a dolly because the brake is locked up.

I love the step sides. They always look like good, honest work trucks.

Re: New memeber, New truck

Absolutely worth saving, give it a bath in CLR to eat off some of the rust, you might be surprised how it looks after that.

Re: New memeber, New truck

Thanks guys for the warm welcome!! I am excited to get deeper in this project has winter comes in and I have more spare time. The truck was brought brand new in 67 by my wife's great grandfather and it caught my eye a few years ago but I wasn't ready for it yet. Im going to try to keep it has original has possible, but still be drivable. I would love to Clear coat it because the patina on the paint is awesome in person. I am worried about the patches im going to have to do on the cab corners for the look of it. But I will just have to wait and see what it looks like.
