Rear end swap
I'm removing the 6 lug stock rear end from my 1968 StepSide. I'm open for suggestions as to what make or model or rear that will fit and give a comfortable gear ratio.
Thank You. |

71-72 will get you into a 5 lug axle in the 1/2 ton trucks. the rear diff is aprox 1 1/2" wider overall, but shouldnt be a problem. (bolt in). as far as ratio, for a 3.73 look at the I 6 stick trucks for a donor......V8 auto equipped trucks should have a 3.07 gear. Good luck, crazyL
