I6 to SB clutch linkage
I replaced my 250 with a 350 GM crate. Moved the mounts to the small block location. I have Hedman Headers that are specific for a manual transmission. What do I need, or to fabricate to get my linkage to work.

IIRC you need to cut about 1/2 inch off the end of the zbar tube and use a bracket like in this link.

I used a piece of 1/8" steel flat bar bolted between the two mount bosses on the block and drilled & tapped it for the pivot ball where it lined up with the frame mount bracket.
Welded another layer of 1/8" flat bar on the back side between the bosses and used a thin nylock on the back side of the ball stud to lock it in place.

I don't think my ball stud is threaded. I can spin it, but it won't turn out. Looks like it was pressed in and peened on the back to keep it in place.
What I really want to do is switch to hydraulic, but it looks expensive. Has anyone done this? |

Mine was done by the PO when he put a SB in it. (not hydraulic, Im talking about your original post). And I guarantee he did it as cheap as possible. Ill take pictures when I get home. Maybe that will help at least get you going until you get something better.

I had found a threaded clutch pivot ball off summit and used it on my swap. I seem to remember hearing that some blocks had the threaded hole to accept it, some didn't. Mine did. Threaded ball in to block and everything worked without any modifications.
Note that my 350 is in the rearward 6cyl position and I have ramhorn manifolds.
