C30 motor removale
I have a 72 c30 that I want to remove the motor and front suspension in, I have the truck on a lift and wondered if its possible to drop the motor and cradle together as a unit out the bottom? Can you reach all the cradle bolts with the motor in the truck? I was thinking unbolt it while its on the ground and then just lift the truck up leaving moor and suspension on the ground.

I doubt it will work that way.The engine towers lay on top of the frame rails and would hang up.I think you'll be miles ahead to pull the engine and the crossmember separately. You'll want to separate them to regasket and clean/paint them anyway.

Re: C30 motor removale
That could never work unless you torched the frame off.

Re: C30 motor removale
I've done that before when I had access to a huge forklift and was younger and more stupid.. Tell you what, it was a huge pain in the a... with everything that hooks to the engine form the top. Way easier to pull the engine first
