5" and 7" drop info

well in a little over a year I,ve been thru 3 new hanger bearings. I even installed a slip yoke in the rear shaft. bot I wish I knew this before i droped my 72 lwb truck. so. now going to install another "new" hanget bearing and gonna try to install it upside down (bolts on bottom) to get more height and h/b geometry. if this dont work I,am gonna go long tail th350 and 1 piece drive shaft. I drive my truck easy and dont haul anything ( 500lbs max & local) its used like a car 99.9% of the time. what are you fellas doing to stop the breaking problem ? everything in my driveline is new and shafts are balanced. just frustrated I recon, I am crippled and it really hurts doing this job.
bob in tn.

It sounds like you need to correct your pinion angle. Does the truck vibrate at any particular speed? You can flip your rear trailing arm mounts...but it is a lot of work removing the rivets unless you pull the bed off for better access.

well gonna install another "stock type" hanger bearing for a quick temp fix. found a 12" output shaft and tailhousing and I have a spare th350 so gonna get it rebuilt and install the lts assy. then buy a new yoke and have a 1 piece drive shaft built. while I,am at it might as well install a aftermarket x member which will let my exhaust run thru it and correct my pinion angle. gosh so much work.... us old guys arnt meant to do this stuff in our old age and being crippled dont help things. now to decide 3" or 3.5" dia tube size.....
