Attention all "new" truck owners from the LAMBRECHT Auction

. . . .

I'm hoping that all those REAL DIRTY valve covers we've seen, are hiding some original valve cover decals.

I'm doing research to have some of the " 8 350 " decals made, like the first picture below. ( probably the passenger's side only )

Please clean off your dirt CAREFULLY ( they are VERY fragile ) and take a close-up picture of what you find and post it in this thread.

The second picture below, shows what should be on the 307 engines.

I'm also interested in knowing if there are ANY " remains " on the driver's side valve cover of ANY of these engines.
( So far, they only seem to be on the passenger's side )

. . . .

I would almost want a pair of decals, but only so I could create a template either to paint it on or have it engraved onto the valve covers...... Although this makes me want to go out and check my 350 to see if I am lucky enough to have these on it still.

. . . .

There isn't enough room for the " 8 350 or 8 307 " decal to fit between the oil fill plug and vent hose.
( as can be seen is the picture below that I took of an original 1971 307 engine's driver's side valve cover )

Several people on this website have told me that they had these decals on the passenger side only of trucks they had when new or at least not very old.

I've seen some pictures of engines that have the valve covers reversed . . . then the decal won't fit on the passenger side !!!

The engine in the picture below had a pretty intact " 8 307 " decal on the passenger side.
