Whats it worth?

I have a 1967 Chevy C-10 with a 327 and a 350 turbo. The truck has about 160,000 miles but the motor and trans only 7000 miles.
Lots of chrome on the motor and plenty of power.

The truck has a few dings here and there and very little surface rust. It needs a rocker panel on the drivers side, but all the chrome is reusable with only one dent on the piece at the drivers door. The cab has all new window gasket, etc.

My question is what is this worth seperate. I've got a guy wanting to buy the motor and trans, and another wanting the chassis.

Thanks for your help.

That is a awful nice truck to dismantle and sell in parts....why not just sell the truck complete? Looks like it's in great shape. You don't see too many '67 SWB trucks at all, and most aren't that nice....

to me, it looks like a 68. look at the back window. unless it is a rare 67 with the full size back window. either way, i wouldn't part something that looks that good. why are you wanting to get rid of it?

It is a 67, have all the original paperwork with it. I want to do so much to it but don't have the time. The truck sits in the shop all the time and get cranks about once a week. I figure I need to sell it and let someone get some good out of it, before I let it sit and ruin! I also have my eye on another that is alot nicer than mine!

Yeah I changed my name becasue I could not remember my password, and the forget password option didn't work right. I entered my email address and username and it never sent me a pasword so I just changed it.

If you have to part it out, I would say a rolling chassis with no body or powertrain, but has rims and tires is worth about $800. The engine and tranny, if in great shape would probably sell for about $1200. I think you would be able to make the most money if you sold it whole. Why not post it on the parts board for sale and see what kind of bites you get.
I don't mean to be insulting on the price, that's what those parts would go for around here.

OOOOHHH!!! Well in that case, without an engine and tranny, and without knowing the overall condition of the truck or the options it has, I would say, about $5000

$5000 is pretty steep for a non running truck....you can pick up a pretty nice pickup that runs and drives for $5000, and they are usually clean too. I say, maybe $2000 tops, assuming everything is in pretty good shape. With all the trouble you are going to have removing the engine, why not just sell it whole? I wouldn't want to buy a engine/tranny-less truck, simply because i couldn't test drive it to make sure the driveline and brakes were OK....

rlg_67--DON'T PART OUT THE TRUCK! Man I would like to have that. My '68 SWB stepside is red, but I would really love to paint it black. Get all your receipts together, and call an appraiser. It's one of the only ways to go. Something is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. I bought my '68 in really great shape with 327 and 3 speed on column for $5,500. Really clean. The guy needed the money to build a house. BTW, DON'T PART OUT THE TRUCK!

nightmare--I think that's an aftermarket sliding rear window. See the gap between the ends and the center. Mine has the same thing. 1968 was the first year for the side marker lights. That's how you can tell them apart, unless someone has changed the fenders.

$5000 is pretty steep on a truck with no motor or tranny. If someone wanted that much for a rolling chassis and body then it had better be perfect with a nice paint job. Body work is not cheap though. Good luck. Oh did I mention DON'T PART OUT THE TRUCK!

whole truck running, from the pic, IMO here in California, you could bring in $5000 - $7000. The truck looks nice in the pic so from what I know that is what I would say. Don't part it out.

If it where mine I would only sell the truck complete. Maybe the person that wants the body and chassis would take the whole truck and work his own deal with the other party wanting the engine and tranny. Just don't get yourself in a situation where you tear it down and then one party backs out of the deal. Good Luck...Stroker

Sell the truck whole, or at the worst with out engine and trans. Friend of mine sold a 70 lwb small block with a clean paint job and a 700r for $6,200. I just saw the new owner's trying to sell it for $7,500. And they have screwed up the paint on the hood.
Landin, nice small town you are in. I was there the 4th of July weekend. Whats up with all the stinky, loud bikers tho?

spinning wheels, ya once a year we get to deal with that racket. I used to live on highway 25 and it was loud from 6:30 am till 4:30 am. totally out of control. now the hip is gone the last two years have been boring. still fun though.

rlg_67, I still say sell it whole or keep it.
