Compatible parts between P30 and C30
What parts are compatible between the 73 and up one ton p30 and c30. Because I have a chance to make my c20 a one ton dually. My main concerns are the rear springs and front disks.

Re: Compatible parts between P30 and C30
You would be okay with the front upper and lower control arms and spindle swapping them from a P-chassis to a truck or even G-van but the rear axle perches will probably be in the wrong spot where you would need to cut and reweld the perches. Keep in mind a lot of older P-chassis used Rockwell axles which the trucks nor chassis cabs ever got, not that a Rockwell would be a bad thing.

Would the springs switch over with out the perches?

Re: Compatible parts between P30 and C30
Parts on a P series are a real grab bag, they could have been fitted at the factory, by the body builder, or anybody else along the way who would have done any building or conversion to the chassis. The front suspension is fairly predictable off the shelf 1 ton parts, unless it's a solid axle. Anything beyond that is a crap shoot. They only way to know for sure what is going to work for what you want to do is to eye the parts in person and see if they will do what you want them to.

the rear springs will probably be the same, except the p30's i've had all had 52's, and the 3/4 and 1ton trucks usually have 57's. you can move your rear spring perch forward though and use them.

I most likely will lower the truck, so could I put on longer shackles?
