slight hesitation/stumble

well after driving several months regular and breaking in my crate motor, i decided to see what the truck will do at a dead stop sign, so i stomped it and it laid some rubber and smoked the tires but i noticed a slight hesitation or stumble when i punched it ,

any ideas on carb adjustment? timing? or maybe plugs?

i have put about 4K miles on it since i have put it in the truck,

Hellooo yourself!!
What's your timing set at?
How high is your idle?
Where's your vac advance hooked to?

Re: slight hesitation/stumble

Hesitation is usually a lean condition, bogging down, rich. Ignition being off you would lose power but hesitation is unlikely. With throttle wide open you're off the idle circuit, so it's not the idle mixture screws. Next would be the Main Jet on the Primary as well as the Power Valve.

Re: slight hesitation/stumble

initial timing 16 BTDC, total timing at 3000 rpms is 34 deg, vac advance hooked up to ported on carb, Holley 600 mech secondaries,

cam info
.480 Int / .486 Exh & 224 Int / 230 Exh duration @ .050 - 112 degree lobe sep.

it idles a little rough until it warms up,

i still think i need to tweak the idle mixture screws a little more, and i have a new cap and rotor and some good custom plug wires i have not installed yet , going to try that,
