Re: Shorty Headers!!! FLOP!!!
For the header nut issues. Try putting teflon tape on the header bolts and then tighten the nuts up snug. Start the truck and warm the pipes up to operating temp and check the tightness one more time. It works, the teflon tape will keep the bolts from backing out and the nuts will stay tight. once set, they stay until you loosen them. If it is on bolts that the Y pipes mount to, then double nut them to have them stay.

Re: Shorty Headers!!! FLOP!!!
My headers did the same when I bought the truck. First thing I did was replaced the bolts and used nyloc nuts. Also I re-hung the exhaust with flexible hangers. The po had the pipes and muffler secured almost solid with no flex. Pipes wouldn't move but motor did and loosened the collector bolts quickly. Been good since. Here's a link for nyloc nuts.

Re: Shorty Headers!!! FLOP!!!
Use header lock washers. Not normal lock washers. You can use red silicone on the threads and let it dry. This method has always worked for me

Re: Shorty Headers!!! FLOP!!!
Stage 8 locking fasteners are the way to go. Studs and nuts don't work in most cases because of clearance issues. Header bolts have smaller heads for a reason.....

Pinch lock bolts with lock washers are the stuff to use here
