New member,and truck...

Just joined the forum, from Northeast GA.I'm big fan of all makes and sizes of vintage trucks.(have a Mack B75 and Dodge CN900 also)Been looking for a nice old pickup for a while and came across this two owner "66 C10 a few days ago.Truck is VERY solid and straight, far better than I was expecting!Engine was replaced in the "70's,either a late 327 or early 350.The old timer repainted the front end at one point, other than that the body is untouched. She was driven into the "90's,then pulled off the road until she was to be restored. Some things happened and that was never to be,engine was last run about 5 years ago.I'll have better pics in a day or two when I start cleaning her up.

Welcome and cool truck. Looks like plenty of chairs in the back for helpers to sit in also...

What are your plans for the truck?

Re: New member,and truck...

Got her yanked from the barn and dropped off today...Here's a few more pics.VERY solid overall, right side rocker is crunchy and would need to be replaced.Left side has some rot where the rocker meets the floor inside the cab.Structure of the the cab is excellent,as well as the rrof/drip rail.

Re: New member,and truck...

Welcome to the site. That's a real beauty, rust repair appears minimal. Interesting hubcaps too. 63 Chevy on the rear, and the front appears to be a 1960 Chevy with an Impala 3 bar spinner from a wheel cover. Good luck on your decision.

Nice find. My 66 I had in High School was the same color. When I found it it looked the same as yours does now. What are your plans?

Re: New member,and truck...

Nice, how are your floor pans? It's a shame the front end got repainted..

Where are you from in GA? We've got a job in Augusta right now.

Re: New member,and truck...

Floors, bracing and cab mounts are really good overall. It does need to work were the rocker meets the floor front to back.Nice thing is there's no patchwork on the truck!Nothing worse than pulling apart other people's "handy" work...Here's a pic of ther rust on the drivers side. And the drivers side mounts.

Re: New member,and truck...

Welcome to the forum

That does look like a good solid truck to build. The rockers and outer floor/inner rockers are available from the aftermarket. They seem to fit fairly good.

Re: New member,and truck...

Did you by any chance ask him if he was interested in joining our board? I for one would be interested in seeing how this truck gets restored. At least is will be in a good home.
