new guy question

i have always been a jeep guy but i bought a 1985 silverado long bed off a buddy. his dad bought it new and it has no rust in it but my question is all my guages work except the oil pressure one and the temp guage. i put on a new sending unit and a temp sensor. i took the guages out and cleaned the back of them off and still nothing the temp guage doesnt go past 120. the oil pressure one stays at about 10 psi. i no both are wrong because the motor runs to good and i was just wondering if anyone has a idea if its the guages or somthing else that is causing them to not work. thanks

Good thing spelling doesn't count around here tonight.

Turn the ignition on and observe the gauge. Pull the lead off of the sending unit and ground it. Observe the gauge and see if it moves.

It's hard on a cell phone to get it all wright and they do not move at all when I do anything

You can ground the sending wires and the gauges should max out and the other should zero. As for the oil pressure and temp. They may possibly be correct. More likely the oil press than the water temp. I've had great running engines that still only pulled 10psi and ran for years. They were just worn is all

The sending units have to be matched to the gauges and as for parts store replacements I wouldn't really trust that they are the correct ones

I've seen the oil gauge jump up as the throttle increases(does it?)
i'd do the sender grounding check (checking for full movement)and
make sure the block is grounded good and
unplug the harness on the firewall and ohms meter the wires checking for breaks
there is a spot where all the wires go down to one ground back behind the cluster,might check that is ok,adding another ground seems to fix things(me bouncing gas gauge)
