brake booster help

Brake booster I just bought is metric. My brakes are not metric do I have any options? Any help would be appreciated thank you very much.

the thing is it is already installed my mechanic whent to run the brake lines and he just called me and told me the booster that was for a 67 to 72 Chevrolet c10 is metric. Are there any other options or do I need to change the master cylinder?

Metric what? the mounting bolts that hold the master?

I just talked to him he said the proportioning valve.

So, the lines into the prop valve are metric threads? Find out exactly what is going on and report back instead of trickling the info. We started at the booster and now we are at the prop valve?

yes sir the prop valve is a metric going in.

He is going to have to make up some custom metal lines from the booster to the prop. Maybe somebody else can chime in whether or not there is a vendor that sells them or not. I think that may occur whether or not you change the master out for a metric threaded one

If you bought it, return for the correct one. If a mech installed it, he should remove and replace with the correct one. Otherwise, you'll need to install custom lines with metric to sae adapter fittings. Inline Tube may have some of those.

Your options are :

1. get the correct prop valve with standard threads to match your master cylinder and brake lines.

2. Get some pre made steel brake lines with a metric flare on one end, cut it and put a standard flare on the other.

3. replace all of your lines, wheel cylinders, calipers, and and everything else in your brake system to metric threads.

Yes, that is what I'm referring to. If your mech said only the prop valve is metric, replacing it will solve your problem. I was just rambling about who should foot the bill..

well I emailed the guy I bought the system from he is an eBay vendor with a good reputation.I just don't understand why it would be metric when he knew it was for my truck since that system was specifically for a 68 C 10. Guess I'm just rambling now.

Because they buy the cheapest crap they can (usually from china) and off it at a premium price as a "kit"
