Oil Pan
Hey guys. I need to know what the torque specs for the oil pan on my 1985 c10 are. It has a 305 in it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Oil Pan
Good luck finding a ft/lb torque wrench that'll let you do 12 ft/lb.
THe torque spec is 80 inch/lbs for the 1/4 inch bolts and 165 inch/lbs for the 5/16 inch bolts. |

Re: Oil Pan
What pan gasket did you use? Did you have to remove the timing chain cover to replace the gasket? I've got a leak and not sure if it's coming from the pan gasket or the rear main. The front pan gasket show signs it has been leaking but not sure yet on the rear. Haven't taken off the cover for the bell housing to see.

Re: Oil Pan
Get a 1/4 drive ratchet and extension and all that. Tighten snug. Then 90* turn after that. 2 years ago and no leak yet
