Please help with codes!!!

Hi all, I am at the tail end of my swap with a 2011 5.3 and 6L80 trans and have run into a problem. The engine will start and then die after approximately 10 to 15 seconds. I was able to borrow a code reader and when I hooked up the code reader I got 10 codes as listed:

P0036 Heater control circuit bank 1 sensor2
P0056 Heater control circuit bank 2 sensor 2
P0443 EVAP emission system purge control valve circuit
P0449 EVAP emission system vent valve solenoid circuit
P0452 EVAP emission system pressure sensor / switch low
P0463 Fuel level sensor A circuit high
P0480 Fan 2 control circuit
P0481 Fan 2 control circuit
P0690 ECM / PCM power relay sense circuit high
U01090 Lost communication with fuel pump control module

I erased all but 5 would not erase
P0443, P0449, P0452, P0463, U0109
I erased again and only 2 showed but forgot to write down which ones. I attempted to start engine and it ran for a few seconds but tripped codes again and died. Ran code scan and came back with 12 codes, all the same except for
P0054 H02S heater resistance bank 1 sensor 2
P0060 H02S Heater resistance bank 2 sensor 2
I deleted codes again and started, it wanted to run but codes tripped it again.

Does anyone know what these codes mean?? What can I do for these???? PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: Please help with codes!!!

First question. Did you have the VATS removed? Given all of your evap codes I am going to guess not. The VATS must be programmed out or the engine will not run.

Re: Please help with codes!!!

I received a text form the person who tuned my PCM and he stated he did the following:

"Alright well to answer your questions, I disabled vats, disabled starter fault checks, changed the rev limiter to 6800, disabled flex fuel, increased power enrichment ramp in, took out power enrichment delay, disabled cat over temp, disabled displacement on demand, decreased IAT and ECT spark advance correction, maxed out all torque vs. rpm tables, turned off brake torque limit, disabled tip in ETC limit, disabled all traction control settings, disabled catalyst test, switched fuel pump control module equipped" to "no", and turned off all the speed limiters."

I asked him about the rear O2 sensors and he stated he did not delete them and that it would have no effect on how the engine would run.

Is disabling VATS not good enough? can you delete them?

Re: Please help with codes!!!

This is what I'll tell you, the first ECM it had programmed my tuner deleted VATS and all kinds of other things. I got the ECM home and the engine wouldn't start. I pulled my hair out trying to figure out what the problem was. I called him up and he swore he deleted everything. The next day I took it back to him (45 min away, one way), he looked at it and everything was still in it. Evidently he didn't 'rewrite all' or something like that, so the changes didn't stick. He redid it and I took it home and it worked. He may not have gotten the rewrite to stick. Just my experience, hope it leads you on a good direction.

The post can stop here. This is almost textbook VATS, and a direct result of people I have come to know as Tooners. They like to look in your pcm, click a bunch of boxes they *think* do what they need to based off of a FAQ on the HPT forums, and maybe flash a working base file they copied from the same place.

Find a real Tuner. Someone with experience, and a dyno.

Re: Please help with codes!!!

Ok, I cleared the "P0690 ECM / PCM power relay sense circuit high" by running a wire straight from batt to PCM wire. Still have the other codes and will be taking the PCM back to the tuner on Tuesday.

Can anyone tell me what exactly I should make sure is deleted off the PCM besides VATS (which he states it deleted). Should I have him delete the fuel pump control module? I am ready to drive this thing!!!

Re: Please help with codes!!!

Well, he's probably out driving, but I hope he updates this with the issues.

I find it very frustrating to search and search only to find a problem exactly like yours, only to see the last post as "figured it out, thanks!" and never have a resolution.

Congrats on getting it going. I hope to have mine rolling on it's own next weekend.

Re: Please help with codes!!!

Hey Guys, Sorry for late replies, I have 4 kids and 3 in sports so not a lot of free time for now lol. I don't know what he did different as he didn't send a note stating what he did. I will text him and ask because any good info will be helpful for others with the same problems. I haven't had the time to button it all up and drive it yet but hopefully Sunday I will be doing just that.

I will keep you all updated, I won't split on you because like 67Steven stated, I to a lot of threads and the last thing I see is "figured it out, thanks!"

By the way, anyone know what size allen wrench is needed for the passenger side head so I can put in a temp reader??

I will post pics when done guys, and a vid!!

Re: Please help with codes!!!

Well I hooked the fan's to two relays, the Fuel pump is hooked to a relay, and I hooked the break wire to a relay and the wire that goes to the break today. I took it out of the driveway and it still takes the transmission a few seconds to kick in when I hit the pedal, anyone familiar with this? The engine revs right away but the tranny will kick in a second or two after that. I don't get it. I didn't get to play too long though as I almost ran out of gas.

Not to be a smartalec, but did you check the tranny fluid level?

Re: Please help with codes!!!

Cool. Don't want you messing up the tranny if it's low on fluid. Does it do this when you ease on the gas or just when you nail it?

Re: Please help with codes!!!

from the very little time I had to move it, it was while easing on the gas. Didn't want to nail it just yet. Was just trying to see if he fans would turn on but not enough gas. Filling it up 1 gallon at a time sucks!! should quit being stupid and buy a bigger can lol

Re: Please help with codes!!!

Are u familiar wih how a larger stall feels? When u first drive a higher stall converter it def feels like somethin is wrong. This is of course assuming the fluid level and everything is assumed correct.
