My 69 Chevy stepper
This is a picture of my truck I bought about twenty years ago. I bought it from a little old lady I did yard work for. It was her husbands truck, completely stock had the six cylinder and the three on the tree. That was the first thing to go. Any way he pasted that summer, He was such a nice old man. I asked his wife if she wanted to sell his truck. She told me I could have it for $150.00 I couldn't get to the bank fast enough. I drove it home and the very first thing was to put hurst shifter on the floor. Then came the tires and mag rims. I drove it for the next five years without doing to much to it. Then I put a 350 in it and drove the hell out of it, man I could light the tires in all three gears. Then it got parked, not forgotten I had a dream to make it very cool. I started buying parts every time taxes came, I bought the lowering kit from Cpp. Went with five lug disc on the front drop spindles and five lug rear end. I bought parts and put them on a shelf. Then about three years ago my grandson started showing interest in cars he was twelve then. So we pulled the truck into my shop and started to take it apart. It was not long after that they moved to New Jersey. So it sat there for about a year in pieces. About four months ago I bought almost every thing I need to put it together. So her we go.......

Good luck with the build and don't get so caught up in the work that you forget to enjoy it!

Re: My 69 Chevy stepper
Wow I tell you there is not much more that pisses me off than to live in a town that has nothing. We have a napa that never has any thing you need or they don't seem to want to help. We have a car quest, it's better but not by much. I order most every thing off line, but hate waiting and making sure its the right part. Any way I went to buy the coupler on the rear brake line with no luck at all. I can't use the old on, like I would even if I could. So I will search the net, I will get the braided line that runs to the frame.

Re: My 69 Chevy stepper
The Tee for the rear brake hose comes attached to the hose or atleast it did on the hose I ordered, you will need to order the year hose for what ever year brake lines you ordered because the hose will be a different length depending on the year.

Re: My 69 Chevy stepper
That's a good question I won't know until I get some weight back on the truck to see how low it is. The front is supposed to be 1 1/2 drop spindle with 1" drop spring. The rear is 4" drop. The tires you see on it are 18" the tires in the back ground picture are 15". I won't know for a while......

Re: My 69 Chevy stepper
I'm probably going to custom make something so I can have the nice braided line.

Re: My 69 Chevy stepper
Yes that is from LMC, very happy with the way it bolted right up. I'm not going to use the straps they only go side to side. The fill tube lines perfect with my board..
