Question Gmc Paul's Vs. Lmc Truck

I am currently in the process of restoring my 70 C10 SWB guys and am looking to buy all my interior pieces, weather-stripping, rubbers and seals, trim, etc through an aftermarket company. I've dealt with LMC in the past with buying engine parts and radiator supports and I haven't been too impressed with their quality of parts. I've never dealt with GMC Pauls before and I would like everyone's input. I notice GMC Pauls is cheaper on a lot of products over LMC. Adding up all the differences in prices would deduct maybe close to $500. LMC's total parts list for me came out to $1400.00 worth of stuff. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated guys. Keep up the good work on this site!

MOST of the parts are the same no matter who you get them from. If you see a part that LMC has that Paul doesn't more than likely it is because Paul won't carry it because it is crap. Save the bucks.

Sounds like GMC Paul's is a winner. Now if I can just convince them to give me free shipping. I wonder if I should drive to IN from Minneapolis, MN. Haven't done a road trip in a few years.

Thanks guys!

Definately GMC Paul. There are other good sources also, and like Paul, members of this board.

GMC Pauls wins in a couple of areas over LMC:

1) They KNOW these vehicles. LMC just has some parts.

2) They're MUCH nicer to deal with.

Before you drive down to see us, email us a parts list. So we can be sure we have what you need in stock. No point driving all the way down and not get everything.

We do give free shipping if the order is over $500, we do still charge shipping on the heavy or oversize parts no matter the order total.

Thanks for all the kind words guys! Paul is down at the Super Chevy Show in Indianapolis today and this weekend. I'll be there sat & sun. Maybe we'll see some of you there.
Have a great weekend!

Les

GMC Paul's, hands down. I haven't personally dealt with LMC, but out of everything I've heard about them, the bad outweighs the good. Many of their repro parts don't fit worth a damn either.

On the other hand, I have dealt with Paul, and will continue to deal with Paul. Their customer service is second to none.

GMC Paul gave me free shipping, but you have to be willing to make it worth his time. I.E. spend enough money.

The customer service is good, products are excellent quality.

LMC sucks

If you look on the Review Board You'll see tons of people supporting vendors.
This one is a good one ... LMC
And here is one for Paul

Like I've said in the past, the only thing LMC sold me that fits properly...is the hat on my head.

Just want to add my .02 worth for GMC Paul. I purchased a 21 gal. poly tank from him complete with straps and sending unit. The sending unit float had a crack in it and gave a false reading when I knew the tank was full. (Brass float filled with gas and sank, saying tank was empty). When I found the problem, I personally called and spoke with Paul. He was VERY apologetic that I had experienced such a problem. I was getting ready for a truck/car show with time running short and he sent me a new float, over-night express at his expense. Cost him more than what he sells the float for as a replacement. Doubt that you will get that kind of service from LMC. My next parts will come from GMC Paul for sure !!!!

Just wanted to note the number of posts ! 327 is a good #

Go with GMCPaul....
I have dealt with both.
LMC has shipped me so called "parts" that dont fit or are not
even like the originals. LMC is good at one thing, there catalog
is pretty damn good when it comes to pics and such, OH, and
prices higher than anywhere else!

Ten hour drive to GMCPaul's from Twin Cities. Did that in April. Save the time, and have it shipped. Like 71 Chev ( his associate ) said, shipping is free on the amount you are looking to spend. Only charge is for over weight or size pieces. Still going to be less than gas for a pickup trip. Up side would be meeting them!!! Nice, helpfull guy's, but I'll warn you.....don't go in his parts trailer!!!!! You WILL spend more than you went for!!! Candy store for motor heads!!! OOOHHH, I GOTTA have one of those, and one of these...etc. etc.
