1966 Impala Convertible
Long story...I was watching the Lambrecht auction (Sunday) and accidentally bought a 1965 Biscayne for $450. Clicked when I should not have, and bid on it. Showed it to a friend here and he told me he knew of a 1966 Impala convertible. I wound up getting out of the Biscayne ( thank the lord!) and bought the Impala last week. It only took a battery and fresh gas to get it running! I am working on the brakes now. Anyway, here is a picture!

Re: 1966 Impala Convertible
What was wrong with the Biscayne for $450?
I like the car you decided on however. More pictures please.

Re: 1966 Impala Convertible
Talk about potential. Is it as complete as it seems in that picture?
Funny how I don't know you but I'm excited for you!

Re: 1966 Impala Convertible
Alsriv2... the car was not all that bad but it was going to cost me $1200 to get it home. So then i was going to have a $1650 investment in a $500 car.
Nonhog...Thanks! It is really solid. The front floors are perfect. The left rear floorpan has a small rust hole. The left rear seat pan has another small hole. Both about the size of a silver dollar. The trunk pans are bad and need replaced. The right quarter is dented where a tree limb fell on it but he gave me a new quarter for it! I will post more pics tomorrow. I am away with the kids this weekend.

Re: 1966 Impala Convertible
Nice! The '65-'66 Impalas are one of my favorite body styles. They are a great riding car, too.

Re: 1966 Impala Convertible
Thanks guys! Today I got some time to work on it a bit. Put a rear brake hose on it, and now have brakes! Also put on new cap, rotor, and wires. Replaced the fuel filter and adjusted the carb and have it running really good! Tomorrow if the weather permits, I may take it out for a spin...
