Ignition Wiring help!

I am in the process of putting a brand new engine/tranny in my 66 chevy lwb. and im trying to figure out the wiring. previously i had a push button and toggle and one night i went to start it and it caught on fire. burning the wires from the push button to the fire wall grommit. i have new wires all the way from the starter to the key switch. i just dont know which wires go where. are the wires from the firewall do they wire into the key ignition wire plug part? or do they run from somewhere else? im pretty sure there should be 4 for it. if anyone has been through this anything helps. just need pictures of the wires, thank you!
