Re: Matte/satin paint care

good question. I know it's not much of an answer, but I haven't found ANYthing that would work better than wash then wipe. Preservatives, etc seem to screw up satin finishes (I'm mostly talkin underhood stuff though, but same principle if it's your exterior). I'd be interested to hear of there's a better way also. Personally, I wouldn't use silicone or oil on a satin surface, just a temporary lustre that will shorten the finish's life.

called up my old man (he's a long time hot rodder) he told me to use armorall tire care stuff. went to wallyworld and picked some up works pretty well. kinda smudges if you wipe your finger on it hard. might just need to let it dry or use less. i took a pic. check it out

Re: Matte/satin paint care

Thats dry. I just apply it with a sponge (use alot) let it soak in. Then wipe it down with a mf cloth. It might get a little splotchy overnigh so just apply another layer and it should last a couple washes before you need to do another layer. Or you can just do one after each wash like me

Pledge. Works great and resists dust. does give it a little shine though. More like the result w the Armour All

Re: Matte/satin paint care

Supposedly this stuff is really good. SPI has been sending out a free bottle (they had to actually buy it) with all of their matte black base. Wizards matte paint detailer.
