Hello. I'm looking for a stock replacement pedal for my '64. All i'm finding so far for '64 are plastic ones that use 2 mounting studs (3rd pic). The OEM pedal that was in the truck mounts to the floor with 2 bolts (1 & 2 pics), has a metal core, and is hinged (metal) at the bottom. There are 2 corresponding threaded holes in the floor....no mounting studs. The factory manual shows the bolts holding the pedal down to the floor. Has anyone used these replacement pedals...and are you bolting it down or using studs? Seems bolting it down OEM style thru the thin plastic tab on the bottom of the pedal wouldnt last long. Thanks.

I thought 64-66 all used the ball stud mounts. I think you have a 63 style, but I could be wrong.

I know you said stock, but if you want to add a little bling, a pedal from the 70's thru early 80's Cadillac will pop right on to those ball studs. Early 70's even have a similar "apron" on the bottom that lays over the carpet. My '64 pedal bolts in too like yours, but I have ball studs on my '66 which now has a Caddy pedal.

No ball studs on this truck..smooth metal with 2 holes for the pedal bolts...I have an original factory manual that shows the bolts also. Not sure when the transition from bolts to studs happened, but I cant find the bolt/hinge style pedal anywhere. Just wanted to keep it simple with the original style pedal.

the whole assy from a 90s GM truck works perfect. It has the cable and makes the linkage a no brainer. Takes about half an hour and no more gas pedal issues. Easiest solution

If you removed the bolts, wouldn't the studs just thread right in? Maybe somebody can confirm if that's a do-able deal. Just saw the link above, looks like LMC has got you covered.

From what I can see in pics, to make the studs work I'de have to fab up a floor mounted mounting bracket for the stud mounted pedal that pushes onto the studs kind of sideways. I checked the link and it looks like LMC may have the correct pedal...for a 60-63. So maybe some '64's started out with the '63 style pedal? It sure looks that way. I'll give LMC a shout. Is it correct to say that the 64-66 C/K 10/20/30 trucks used the "ball stud style" if they had the low hump floor (auto or 3 spd trans) ... AND they used the "bolt-in style" if they had a high hump floor ( 4 spd trans) ?

I'm not as familiar with the 60-63s but it appears that ALL 60-63 trucks got the bolt-in (?)

Can someone clarify this? I'm doing the high hump conversion and hadn't thought about this before.

The ballstud versus bolts was a year specific thing, not according to high hump or low hump. I believe the '60-'63 used ball studs and '64-'66 used bolts? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I thinks it's just the opposite. My formerly stock 66 has the studs.

I removed my pedal due to sticking issues and now just have the metal arm. Sounds odd, but I honestly can't tell the difference when I drive it. What I'd like to know is are there any pedals that will snap on or mount to the metal arm without mounting to the floor?

You should be able to Frankenstein a 73 up pedal section to your arm

Well I consulted the bible- the 46-72 Chevrolet Light Truck Parts Catalog, May 1978 edition, Group 3.451. It's somewhat ambiguous and up for interpretation, not unlike THE Bible.

It calls for the "bolt-in" style for All 60-66 (p/n 2388493). It then calls for the "ball stud" style for 64-66 trucks EXCEPT 4WD & 4-Spd ( p/n 3834072). So what that means is all 60-63s got bolt-in. All 64-66s with 4WD & 4-Spd got bolt-in; same part as 60-63s. All other 64-66s got ball stud. Another way to say it is that high humps got bolt-in, low humps got ball stud.

Below is a picture of the bolt-in p/n and how it mounts in a 4-Spd truck

Thanks for doing some research on this, very interesting. I thought my 64 was built with left over parts haha.

Great score on the "power brake" pedal cover....they are one of the hardest parts to find for these trucks....ive been looking for a long time.

I found 2 more pics- first is the low hump floor and second has the high hump set in place. You can see the difference in how the accel pedals mount. The ball stud goes in on an angle and the bolt-in is flat.
