Sub options
Installed my 6x9's and now looking for a sub. I have never used a shallow mount sub. Any body have any experience with boxes ect. I am looking at a 10" Rockford Fosgate R2 or Kicker sub CVT 10.

Re: Sub options
I am not running shallows but i have 2 kickers 12 inch subs..if your not long legged then go with regular sized subs they thump man! they flex my door handles my window and panel also woke up my front neighbor! the box is built to the correct air specs required for the subs based on kicker

Re: Sub options
I have a RF p1 and a truck box for it I'd let go for 150 shipped. Never been hooked up. Still in new box in my garage.

Re: Sub options
Yea, I am 6'2" and need all the room I can get...lol. I have to put the seat back as far as it goes, the reason for the shallow box/subs.
Stardust, box looks nice. 5/8 MDF ?

Re: Sub options
Thanks for the offer, but I think I am going to build another box.

Re: Sub options
I have plans all drawn up in CAD for the box I want to build for 2- 10" slim subs and 2-6x9s and amplifier all built together. The box is partitioned for the proper air flow per speaker.

Re: Sub options
I have two amps and have them roughed in under the seat, one 4 way for the 6x9's and the front 6.5's, the other for the sub. I have a plan for a box that will get me just over .7 cubic feet, for one 10" and still allow me to put the seat all the way back. Just need the one sub for music, don't plan on rattling the truck.

Re: Sub options
Side topic, related to your comment. My dad is 6'2" and I am 6'4", we discovered something that REALLY helps in our trucks...raise the seat up. We cut some 1" box tubing into 2" long pieces, drilled through the center of opposite faces and bolted them in between the rails and the seat bottoms. So, adjuster is still bolted directly to floor but we have risers between adjuster and seat.
