The best way to fix that one, would be to weld in a new piece in that real bad area. Of course you would have to either form a new piece, or cut a piece from another '63 aluminum grill. If the headlight bezels were included, it might not be a bad deal.

Yeah that one is too far gone. I almost bought a truck that had a perfect aluminum grille on it but didn't want to part another one out.

The problem with trying to repair a factory aluminum grille is that they are very soft, and when they get hit hard enough to dent it, the metal stretches to a point where it won't go back into shape. If you're lucky and you can get it pretty straight and all you have to do is weld in a donor piece, you have to be really careful. Welding in a section is tricky because it's really thin and soft, and you're almost guaranteed that you'll have a section that'll discolor from the heat. When it's re-polished, you might not be able to get those sections to polish clearly. Meaning, they still might show a white or bluish cast from the heat of the welding. Sometimes, you get lucky and they buff out. If the price was cheap, it might be a good grille to play with. It would take a lot of work, but it might turn out decent.
