inferior rag joint?
Guys
I bought a rag joint from a reputable vendor that a lot of guys recommend here. The rag joint has regular bolts going through the rubber, where as better rag joint have the collared bolts (see thread below) http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=113278 Have you guys ever used the rag joints with the regular bolts? Any problems with the install or later on? Wondering if i should get the collared bolts or a better rag joint thanks guys |

Re: inferior rag joint?
Well if you are running manual steering loose the rag joint and get a grand cherokee shaft bolts right to the box and very little grinding on the column side and is much tighter and better feel not to mention it has double u joints

Re: inferior rag joint?
I will be doing a swap using a Jeep Cherokee (not Grand Cherokee) intermediate shaft to replace the section between the column and the power steering box on my C20 truck. I got the shaft at the pick a part for $20. The replacement rag joint was much more that that. I hope to work on it this weekend. I will post a how too once I get it done.

Re: inferior rag joint?
i believe the rag it self is the same but the metal section that mounts to the gear box is different for power or non power the grand cherokee shaft is a direct bolt on for non power. From the other post maybe the regular cherokee works for power not sure. But mine was 93jeep gc
