Can this be installed wrong?

I'm talking about the wiring harness plug that goes in the back of the instrument cluster. It appears that it will fit either way. I have the cluster with gauges and converted my harness (formally a idiot light harness) to work for the new cluster. Thanks, any help will be appreciated.

Hey Steve- I have to pull mine to install the new bezel I bought at goodguys. If you can wait you can either check mine out or I can let you know what color wiring are on the top side when I pull it out of the dash....

Are there any hints in the assembly manual?

Re: Can this be installed wrong?

There should be two tabs that will not let you install it incorrectly.

Study it and you should see the tabs on the connector and the mating slots in the back of the cluster tin.

Re: Can this be installed wrong?

Thanks John, what day do you plan to do it? I am very anxious to get this thing fired up!

Tlcrz1972, I looked pretty close and didn't see any tabs except the two locking tabs on either side. They were the same on both sides. I will look again this evening.

The end tabs should be different widths. It should only go in the right way. Unless, of course you put the wires in the wrong cavities when you rewired it for gauges.

Thanks Firstowner69! It snapped right in on the first try so I guess I got it right.
