Re: What the heck is this??
It was a kit truck thing for a lack of a better word. You could buy the kit to do the front of an 88-98 chevy truck but they came out like 94-5ish if I am remembering right . Time slips so fast. Those two guy that are on tv that work on all kinds of stuff on cars Sam and Dave I think maybe they did one long time ago. I remember when they worked on junk stuff behind one of their houses. T he last show I saw them on they had a huge shop wall to wall tools and all nice new clean stuff to play with. Where is my TV deal?
Back to the truck I even looked into building one of them as I was building mostly that style of truck then [at that time they were late model]and most of my wrecks were front hits so I thought it would have been a good match, but that kit was like four times what I could build a new front for out of GM boxes so that ended that idea. Re: What the heck is this??
With a different paint color, that truck would be really cool and unique.
I like it.

Re: What the heck is this??
Alsriv2 is right. The shape of that Red side panel was poorly thought out. If the truck was a single and probably lighter color it should look a lot nicer.
I can't decide on chrome. I think it needs some, but it would be easy to overwhelm it with too much. The SSR retro look had some chrome and they kept it to a minimum.

Re: What the heck is this??
Looks like they tried to use the paint pattern that started on the 73 models, just without the chrome trim. Different....

Re: What the heck is this??
It'll probably be sitting there for a long time. I wonder how many people actually drove by it asking "what the hell is that!" It probably wouldn't look that bad of a truck if they used another front end that somewhat matched. Going from a curvy, wavy front end to a square body style just don't look right.
