How much sound proof/deadner

Hi all,

I am planning to do a full installation of dynamat in my cab and I am wondering how much to order? Can anyone give the square footage of the cab? I cant measure it myself as I am overseas at the moment. I would like to cover all of the floor, and back of the cab etc.

Thanks in advance.

Curtis

Re: How much sound proof/deadner

I just did my entire cab with gas tank removed. I used 56 sq ft.

I bought 75 sq ft to make sure I had enough. I sold the 21 ft I didn't use to a friend. Better to have a little too much than not enough!

Re: How much sound proof/deadner

That sounds about right. I did my entire 65 mustang floor, firewall, inner doors, inner quarters, and trunk floor - minus gas tank (big part of trunk floor in mustangs) with full coverage and it took the full 75 sf. I did not do the roof, car was already restored and I didn't want to pull down the nice headliner.

Re: How much sound proof/deadner

I used more because I did the inside of the cab corner areas and also the kick panel area as I see you did not.

Wink Re: How much sound proof/deadner

I went to the local stereo shop today and he said other than the floor to put strips in it. I did the back cab wall so far and the corner pockets. It seemed to help with the stereo sound which is my main goal. I bought enough to do the floor and both doors. He said do four seperate peices in each door.
4 corners and a center in each. I will do the whole floor later along with the doors. I plan to get it as high into the upper door as I can which cutting it into 4 peices will help installing it I hope.
There is no way to get it into the roof area so I will have to live with that I guess.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: How much sound proof/deadner

Does the 50 sq ft include the doors too?
