Cruise control non op.

I have a 1978 chevy with factory cruise. it does not work.
I can put the vacuum lines off the transducer together and it will pull the arm and race the engine. The vac line is on the brake switch, wiring all looks good.

Is there something I can test? if the truck is running and I push the cruise button will I get voltage at the transducer?

I can go buy a new transducer if needed, but trying to make sure it is that before I spend 90 bucks.

I don't know what is wrong with your cruise, but I spent way to much time and money trying to get the cruise on my 83 work properly or work at all. I have come to the conclusion that an aftermarket electronic is the way to go (Rastra?), but I have not installed one yet because I drive the truck very little.

Is there any way to test the electrical? With the key on should I get a signal at the connection on the transducer when I push the cc button?
