69 c10 on Original stock steelies or ???

I just bought the 1 owner 1969 chevy c10 stepside, 6 banger, 4 on floor. My intentions are to leave the paint and body alone except for a wax job! I'm not sure if I should stick with the 6 lug stock steelies and caps with a refresher paint job on the wheels+mild drop? Or I was thinking 4/6 static drop on some 20/22 smoothie billits... decisions decisions! What do you guys think would be the best for this OG classic?! Thanks

Cool truck. Great color too. You don't see many of them. From what I understand, they did that color through '69.

I say, do steelies and stock caps. White steelies, with chrome caps or white steelies with white caps would look real classic. Oh, and yes. Keep that beautiful paint. Use some Zymol cleaner wax on it

You should talk, man! You've got a real beauty. Thanks though

You can get it at some Walmart's. They also have it at oreilly and autozone. It's in a blue bottle, and even comes out almost the same shade blue as our trucks. It's really good stuff. A tad pricey, but good. Another good one is Maguires Cleaner Wax. The Zymol is a little better IMHO. It shined it up more, and it smells like suntan lotion instead of chemicals

You bought a real nice stepper. If you stay with the steelies I suggest trying to get ( and these are rare ) some 6 hole 15 x 8 steelies. That way you'd retain the stock look of the truck while running a good size tire like P255/70 15's which fill out the wheel wells quite nice on our trucks

Cool truck. My opinion, mild drop with steel & hubcaps. I think it would super cool that way. Enjoy it and drive the piss out of it. Thanks, Fred.

Awesome... Thanks for the clarification on the tire size and I might know where I can score some 15x8's too

Re: 69 c10 on Original stock steelies or ???

I think either combo would look good. The good news is, you can put on the steelies first and if you don't like them go to a smooth billet.

I have quit searching CL here locally as it gets me into trouble and I have no more room. That's a nice one. Was it for sale long or did you snatch it up quickly?

Yeah that's what I'm thinking on the steelies because those billit smothies Delmo puts together are AWESOME, with a heavy price tag too though.

I'm with you on not having no room to spare, I found this truck on CL (my bro did) and it wasn't for sale very long, so I knew I had to pull the trigger fast!

Your truck is one fine ride, you hit it on the stance wheel/tire combo!!

Thanks. I can't take credit for any of it though, I bought it that way. n2billet is the guy that gets the kudos on that build.

I'll be interested to see what you end up doing.

Re: 69 c10 on Original stock steelies or ???

Congrats on a really nice find...all nice trucks here guys.

I think it would look great either way you go...and yeah, the fancy wheels do tend to get a little pricey..Lots of times my mind sez, "Go for the bling", but my wallet sez, "No way,Jack!"

I will be sticking with steelies when I do the re-build on my '69..mostly cause 75% of my budget will go into a motor re-build and replacing all the rusty sheetmetal..I DO have a plan and plenty of ideas written down on paper, but it will be one of the slowest resto projects ever,as it's tough to save any $$$ with so many past due medical bills (in addition to all the regular stuff like mortgage, utilities, food, clothing, etc.)

Anyway, enjoy your truck, will be looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
