MDF longevity

Those of you that have made speaker boxes and interior parts with MDF, how are they holding up over time? My vehicles are all drivers, and we live in Idaho where the weather goes from 100 in the summer to -20 in the winter. Any issues to report?

you live in an arid state, mdf would probably last for years laying outside in the weather.
i live in michigan where the humidity can get 100% at times and rarely go below 60% in the summer.
i seal all mdf with paint, unless i'm doing some fiberglass on it, then i seal it with resin.
i do know that any mdf edge that is on the concrete floor in my barn is swelled up

just sealed up with paint worked for me,my boxes still seem fine .....20 years later

in car it will last forever pretty much

I have a couple of sub boxes for the side of my blazer that have been sitting in a shed in the side yard for eight years. Granted, I live in CA but they should last forever as long as you don't dump them in water.

As long as it stays dry its good for years.
