Re: 350 engine
You have a Q-Jet? I would not get rid of a Q-Jet especially for an edelbrock. Look up Cliff Ruggles. He specializes in Quadrajets.....and make them FLY!

Re: 350 engine
Timing first! Carb second!
Put as much initial timing in to it and it still starts good then maybe play with the carb. |

Re: 350 engine
Make sure the carb is in good shape and proper tune. There is no better carb for fuel economy than a QJet.

Re: 350 engine
I agree on the Qjet. Use an earlier Qjet though. Don't know what year yours is but the earlier non electronic units will RUN!!

Re: 350 engine
this is a 1986 750 Qjet from what I can work out it just uses so much gas and the response seems sluggish so looking for better mileage and response

Re: 350 engine
Tune it! '86 may be a feedback carb. (unless it's off a 1 ton), may cause some difficulties.
