Blower Motor Seal?

What is the correct sealant for sealing the blower motor to the firewall?

The last time I replaced my blower motor I used the last of my 3M 08578 black strip calk.

Re: Blower Motor Seal?

I used blue rtv on mine, seems to be doing fine. I ran a bead around, let it tack up, installed it but didn't tighten it, let it sit a bit then tightened it down.

Re: Blower Motor Seal?

I used plumbers putty. It never hardens and creates a nice seal and is also easily removable.
