Need suspension help, swap 3/4 to 1/2
I posted this in another area but thought I would try it here also.
I just bought a 2000 chevy crew cab shortbed and I want to replace the 3/4 ton suspenion with 1/2 ton so I can get a 5 lug suspenion for better wheel and tire choses. I plan to drop this thing pretty hard. Does anyone know if the factory A-arms are the same (so all I have to do is swap the spindles and rotors) it the 1/2 ton A-arms will fit (swap the entire front suspension?) I think the 1/2 ton rear is probbly a straight forward swap with the 3/4 ton set up Thanks |

The easy way would be to use the 1/2 ton A-arms and rear leaf springs. A 1/2 ton rear axle has a smaller diameter you would have to get new U-bolts if you kept the 3/4 ton leaf springs.

soulman, so you think the 1/2 ton A-arms will fit the 3/4 ton frame. That is what I was hoping. You suggestion about the rear is what I was thinking if I do not go with an alternate method if handing the rear end (4 link or 2 bar possibly)
