72 C20 Mirror Options
What were the factory mirror options out there for a 72 c20? Any different in 67-71? Feel free to post up any and all mirror styles you chose, including sport mirrors. Im on the fence.

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
there are a lot of options. and a lot of '70s aftermarket mirrors. and a lot of misinformation. triple check what you are told. RPO codes stayed the same but the mirrors changed from early years to late in some cases.
search SSTIM's threads. his info is good. in 72 you could get the "sport mirrors" (no good for a working C20) "below eyeline" "camper" and some sort of west coast. this isn't gospel, I am probably not 100% correct. there may be others.

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
. . . .
I chose to go with the Camper Mirrors on my 70 C-10 The Camper's were from J C Whitney's catalog a few years ago. They vibrate a lot, so I added the spot mirrors that DON'T. . . . . |

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
Here's a picture of a correct 72 only stainless below eyeline mirror. The 69-71 below eyeline mirrors had 2 slightly different variations. It apparently had to be revised to allow for the upper side moldings when they became available.

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
c20 could be had with below eyeline (pic 1) or camper (pic 2 & 3). I'm not certain whether or not sport mirrors were available on C20s (??) Personally, I think the C20s seem to look best with below eyeline mirrors, but I have a truck with those and one with camper mirrors. If you're not going to haul a camper in the bed, I'd definitely go with below eyeline - the camper mirrors are designed to see around a camper's side overhangs (or a trailer camper, if it's wide, etc). The 69-71 tripod mirrors had longer lower legs that extended below the trimline (pic 4 & 5), and camper mirrors were also an option. What can I say, I like green. And white.

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
Thanks men. I kind of like the below the eyeline style for a C20. Those camper mirrors are HUGE, definitely a no-go for me. Were sport mirrors a factory option on any 67-72 c10/20/30? Or are they an aftermarket/dealer add-on? Any body have more pics of the below the eyeline style? Or heck, just post your mirrors no matter what they are.

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
On a C20 I personally like the below eye line mirrors as pictured above. For K20s I am partial to the Camper Mirror-Stainless. They have ZERO vibration and can swing out if you plan to tow anything. I've attached pictures of my 1972 K20.

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
I have 6 x 9 mirrors which are useless because they vibrate so bad, but I have a rubber isolated blind spot mirror on them which is way better. I really like the below eyeline tri pod mirrors and would like to go to those eventually. The camper mirrors are way too gaudy for me, and they're too wide for my truck to fit through my garage door.

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
Does anyone reproduce the below eyeline mirrors? I see LMC has something similar, but they do note they are not exact like OE. Anyone used them??

Re: 72 C20 Mirror Options
The links you have posted are for repops that look similar to the 69-71 below eyeline mirrors. I am not sure if the mounting hardware is dimensionally the same and I believe they have a reputation for vibrating. The bracket to the door that is at the top is only a flat piece, whereas the originals are tube stock. I've seen mirror heads that look like the repops that are plastic rather than stainless. Don't know if these are though. If I were you, I'd hold out for an original set of the style correct for your 72 as in the picture in post 4 and the first pic in post 7. However, I don't think they are reproduced. You could post a WTB ad in the parts section.
